How to look after your Simplicity Accessories products

Our Simplicity Accessories are crafted with care so we ask you to look after them when we send them to your home.

Here are some simple tips to help you keep our necklaces, rings, bracelets etc looking new for longer. However, please note that costume jewellery is not designed to be kept for decades like fine gold and silver kept in a crystal cabinet – it’s intended to be worn often and displayed to everyone – whether it’s with your intimate partner or a room full of party-goers.

  1. Keep your jewellery away from liquids that might damage it including water, dishwashing detergent, skin creams, perfume, hair spray silver cleaner and other harsh chemicals.
  2. Put your jewellery on after you put your clothes on and before you take your clothes off to ensure that it doesn’t get caught on your sweater or T-shirt. An accidental pull of your necklace while taking off your shirt can cause a chain or string to break!
  3. Remove your jewellery before beginning activities such as swimming, dishwashing, laundry, cooking, or gardening to prevent physical damage or exposure to cleaning chemicals, salt and chlorine.
  4. Always keep your jewellery dry to ensure that it remains tarnish-free.
  5. Don’t use jewellery cleaner. Cleaner made for silver, gold, or platinum is way too harsh for fashion jewellery which is usually plated with these precious metals.
